Russian Latin — why, what for, and how?

There has long been a problem of how to write personal names in Latin script. Some are lucky, but many people have non-standard letters in their name or surname by world standards, and the problem has been attempted to be solved by a bunch of incompatible standards.

Domain names are the next example that actually extends the application of Russian Latin to all words of the language. Selection did not choose the best because all standards turned out to be unsatisfactory.

The task emerges: to formulate a Latin script that could collectively satisfy all the requirements of accepted standards. For some of the presented standards, the reversibility requirement is met.

So that people can use this — Russian Latin should be as familiar as possible. Reversibility is also extremely useful because using two different orthographies in parallel would be inconvenient.

Basic principles:

• yi — ы (like ъи)
• j — for й and soft sign after consonants
• y — hard sign (like u with a tail)
• sjh — щ (short trigraph instead of shch)
• Familiar Anglo-transliteration ch, sh, zh, kh
